How to Flash Brew

One of the newest and most exciting ways to brew coffee is here: flash brew. What exactly is flash brew? Through the use of boiling water in a Chemex, it is a new form of brewing for an iced coffee.

How does it work?

The first thing you must do is fill the bottom of your Chemex with an entire cup of ice (175 grams). Then, situate your Chemex filter in the brewer with the single fold away from the spout, ensuring the multiple folds are lined up against the spout. Rinse the filter in a circular motion.

Now you will need to weigh out fifty grams of your favorite Koffee Kult coffee and grind it until it is very coarse, then place the coffee in your Chemex. Boil roughly twelve-hundred to fourteen-hundred grams of water for a six-cup Chemex, and pour the hot water until all your coffee grounds are saturated. This first pour will consist of about fifty grams of water. As the coffee begins to drip, wait about thirty to forty seconds. After the allotted time, slowly pour the rest of the water over your coffee in a circular motion. Let the coffee brew for a few minutes, then once all coffee has passed through the filter, discard the filter and grounds. As the coffee begins to cool, give it a few swirls to mix and assist the cooling process. With a glass of fresh ice at hand, pour the coffee and enjoy. Add milk or cream as you like for your convenience. For a step-by-step video of the Flash Brew process, visit our YouTube page.
