Bring the Coffee Shop Home

Our simple tips to elevate at-home coffee and make it feel like it came from a coffee shop.

1) Grind beans at home

Most important tip: Buy whole bean coffee and grind it at home! A great cup of coffee starts with great beans.

The benefit of whole bean coffee is having the freshest cup possible every time if properly stored. It is hard to compare the freshness of pre-ground coffee and whole-bean coffee if you have never experienced a fresh cup of whole-bean coffee when ground just minutes before being brewed. The aroma and flavor of the fresh brew is highly noticeable.

2) Grind what you need

Grind only what you need! Only grind the amount you are planning on using and keep the rest of your beans in our sealed bags or our airtight canister to maintain freshness. It’s also important to know the correct grind size for your brewing method.

3) Use filtered water to elevate your coffee.

Many of you may be thinking, “Does it really matter if the water is filtered?” Filtered water tastes differently and will absolutely affect the taste of your coffee. Tap water contains more impurities, and can leave your coffee with a metallic or acidic taste. For a purer tasting cup of coffee, try using filtered or bottled water.

4) Invest in a great machine or a great brew method

5) Sweeten it up

Once your coffee of choice is brewed, instead of using sugar, add honey for a bit of sweetness!

6) Get creative

Watered down iced coffee is the worst!

If you’re brewing up an iced coffee, freeze coffee in your ice cube tray beforehand to keep your coffee cool without watering it down.
