Make Your Own Coffee Syrup at Home

Making your own coffee syrup is easier and cheaper than you may think! Not to mention, making coffee syrup at home is a lot more satisfying and more delicious in fresh coffee than premade coffee syrup is. Koffee Kult shares a few recipes for you to start making coffee syrup at home, so you can enjoy your favorite cup of joe every day. You can also put these syrups in other beverages aside from coffee; They make for a great addition to cocktails that require a simple sugar.

You will need 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water to begin making coffee syrup at home. You will also need your flavor of choice that you prefer in your fresh coffee, in the form of a sauce, oil, or extract.

For caramel syrup, use 1/3 cup of caramel sauce.
For peppermint syrup, use 2 tablespoons of peppermint extract.
For vanilla syrup, use 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract.

  1. Put the sugar and water into a saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil. Make sure to stir often so it does not cook to the pan.
  2. Simmer the mixture on low for about 15 minutes, stirring on occasion.
  3. Make sure you cool the mixture before putting it in your container of choice, such as a bottle or nice mason jar.
  4. Stir the flavor into the cooked and cooled syrup.

When your syrup mixture is ready, brew a batch of fresh coffee from your favorite coffee roasters at Koffee Kult, mix it in, and enjoy!
