Not to mention, making coffee syrup at home is a lot more satisfying and more delicious in fresh coffee than premade coffee syrup is. You can also put these syrups in other beverages aside from coffee; They make for a great addition to cocktails that require a simple sugar.
You will need 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water to begin making coffee syrup at home. You will also need your flavor of choice that you prefer in your fresh coffee, in the form of a sauce, oil, or extract.
For caramel syrup, use 1/3 cup of caramel sauce.
For peppermint syrup, use 2 tablespoons of peppermint extract.
For vanilla syrup, use 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract.
- Put the sugar and water into a saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil. Make sure to stir often so it does not cook to the pan.
- Simmer the mixture on low for about 15 minutes, stirring on occasion.
- Make sure you cool the mixture before putting it in your container of choice, such as a bottle or nice mason jar.
- Stir the flavor into the cooked and cooled syrup.
