Is Decaf Coffee Healthy for You?
Caffeinated coffee when consumed in moderation has many health benefits. It is rich in nutrients and packed with antioxidants. In fact, coffee is one of the biggest sources of antioxidants in diets. Though decaf coffee does get roasted by coffee critics, decaf coffee has similar health benefits as well!
Decaf coffee includes polyphenols, which help the body fight against ultra-violent rays and radiation. This helps lower your risk of illnesses such as cancer. It also includes potassium and magnesium like caffeinated coffee. Fun fact: one cup of brewed decaf coffee contacts 4.8% of potassium recommended in a day.
Drinking a daily cup of coffee, whether decaf or caffeinated, has been linked to reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes by up to 7%. Though it carries many of the same healthy benefits as caffeinated coffee, decaf coffee has not been shown to improve mental health and enhance workouts.
Decaf is still a healthy alternative for those that need to limit their caffeine intake, such as pregnant women and those with medical conditions. At Koffee Kult, we offer decaf options, such as our Brazil Mogiana Decaf and Colombian Decaf.
