Employee Feature: Meet Dylan

We always love to feature our customers, but today we are going to feature one of Koffee Kult's own employees, Dylan.

1. How did you first learn about Koffee Kult?
I met Jamie at the US Coffee Roaster’s Guild retreat in August of 2019 and after learning that we are in the same area we arranged for me to come by Koffee Kult for a tour. About a year later I saw a job listing for a production roaster, applied, and here we are!
2. What's your favorite aspect of working at Koffee Kult?
I’ve been working in coffee for 10 years now, and I love roasting coffee. The best part about working at Koffee Kult that I get to use some of the best roasters out there: Loring Smart Roast’s S70 Peregrine and S35 Kestrel.

3. What are three words to describe Koffee Kult coffee?
Explicit, content, guaranteed! Hah.

4. Tough question, but what is your favorite Koffee Kult blend?
That is a tough question, I guess Eye Cracker Espresso. That helps me get through some long shifts.

5. Even harder, what is your favorite Koffee Kult single origin?
My favorite single origin is pretty much any of our Ethiopian coffees! I’m also digging on our Las Lajas Cumbres de Poas Black Honey right now.

6. What have you gained from working at Koffee Kult?
Other than a steady paycheck? Hah. No, honestly the best thing about the coffee industry is its people. I've gotten to meet some great people and made some awesome new friends here at Koffee Kult, What more could you ask for?

7. We need to know: what's your favorite coffee hack or trick to brewing the perfect cup?
Keep your gear clean, grind course, and pour slowly.

8. What do you pair your coffee with?
This may sound strange, or maybe it IS strange; most people pair their coffee with something sweet, but I think it's great paired with greasy foods like fried empanadas!
